My goal for each client is to feel their best and have relationships that are fulfilling and balanced. By working together, in an environment that feels most comfortable, we will be able to customize an effective, individualized treatment plan that best supports your goals and needs. I treat a number of mental health disorders and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families and couples. I am invested in your happiness and promise to make you feel that way in each session. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain and move forward to where you want to be in life.
I have been working in the field of behavioral health for over 15 years. As a Los Angeles & SFV native, I understand the demands and stress that people are faced with in this busy city. I strive to live in the moment and count my blessings every day, especially in the toughest moments.
I earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In the public school setting, I provided therapy for special needs children and children with autism. I advocated for children and families and helped them navigate through the challenges of an IEP and social services programs. After completing my M.S. degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, I worked with renowned organizations such as Penny Lane, Tarzana Treatment Centers and Twin Town providing direct client care to individuals across the lifespan.
Now offering personalized services in the private sector to clients in Westlake Village. I live with my lovely wife and two daughters in Thousand Oaks. I enjoy basketball, traveling and watching comedy.
Changes to health, family dynamics, financial stability, employment and socialization are just a few of the consequences of the COVID19 pandemic. For some, the impact of the pandemic is in the past and for others on-going. Though the world continues to be ever-changing as a result of COVID19, we will work together to rebuild, create, communicate and take on this new normal to feel safe and connected to the people and things that matter most in our lives.
Depression is a common and often uncomfortable emotion that we can experience at some point in our lives. Depression can occur as a result of a specific incident, be transient or present itself at the onset of a medical condition, such as postpartum or a cancer diagnosis. Often symptoms include sadness, loss of interest in activities, isolation, crying spells, insomnia and feelings of hopelessness. Through counseling and treatment, I will be able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience anxiety symptoms such as panic attacks, a constant state of worry and nervousness. Anxiety can manifest in your daily life by causing trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating or completing tasks and even fear of leaving the home. I can help you to identify triggers and gain tools to manage and overcome from anxiety.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to families and couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. This may be helpful at the onset of a new blended family, separation, divorce or to redefine your marriage after the children have all moved out. Therapy sessions are held with couples, parents and children, siblings, friends or co-workers. Our sessions will be a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Children and families affected by autism are unique and deserve a treatment plan that reflects that. Whether you or a loved one had autism identified in early childhood or got lost navigating the health care system, you are in the right place. The various modalities and tools we will use in our sessions will be those that focus on communication, socialization and behavioral challenges. Gaining support and structure to provide you with a sense of empowerment and confidence. I encourage a multidisciplinary approach when possible so lets work collaboratively with all teachers, speech/physical/occupational therapists to ensure you and your child are getting the right care.
The four major types of special needs are physical, developmental, behavioral and emotional. Some children may have been born with an impairment or this may be a new onset. The varying degrees, challenges and issues are individual and unique to you and your family. Our sessions may be to work with your child 1:1 or a safe space to share your experience and feelings without judgment or fear.
Co-occurring disorders or dual disorders are individuals who have substance use and a mental health disorder. One of the challenges you or a loved one with a co-occurring disorder may face is which one to treat first. The answer is both. Lets work together to ensure we are functioning at work, school and in our relationships. This does not have to be an impairment in your life any longer. If you are working with a medical care provider, I encourage collaborative treatment to best support your recovery and sobriety.
